Charity Shop Refashion

Very Happy Thursday to you!

And a 3 day weekend is fastly approaching, BONUS!

Many plans? I think I am going to the zoo one day (I LOVE THE ZOO!) and the rest will be sewing and relaxing! Bliss!

So I just wanted to show you the very simple refashion I did to this skirt:

I really should have got a better picture before I got set loose with my seam ripper!

There was two problems with this skirt, the front was pleated at the waist and laid oh so unflattering, and it had a cross-grain ribbon waistband

The waistband had zero give in it and it just cut me in half when sat down.

So I ripped off the waistband, took out the lining (just wasnt needed) and made a new waistband out of black polycotton from my stash. I took out the extra fabric from the pleats so it sat neatly on my hips rather than my waist.

I added the waistband, reinserted the concealed zip and used the same hem line! Easy Peasy!

In the interests of full disclosure, I did have a wee seam ripper accident...

But I sewed it up and no one can tell! Yay!

I used this skirt as part of my #MMMay16 pledge too so yayyy!

Not bad for a £4 skirt and it ticks off one of my 2016 Challenges!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
